COMING IN AUGUST 2009

Where Kids Can be kids!

*The first Oncology Camp in Delaware*

August 8 – August 15, 2009

(Kampers arrive on August 9th)

Kay's Kamp is a member of COCA-Int.

(Childrens Oncology Camping Association-International)

Mission of Kay‘s Kamp

The mission of Kay‘s Kamp is to provide children ages 6-16

currently battling cancer and those now in remission, the opportunity

to participate in a unique camping experience promoting

fun and normalcy, free of charge.

Making Kay‘s Dream a “Dream Come True”

Kay‘s Kamp is a week-long summer camp for children with cancer.

It provides a unique and special place for these young children to escape

their daily environment of hospitals, medications, pain, and the

discomfort associated with cancer and its treatment.

At Kay‘s Kamp, kids with cancer can smile, laugh, and play and not

be labeled as “different” or “sick”.  It gives them a chance to regain their childhood, if only for a week.  Kamp will feature a wide range of

activities and entertainment while each camper is “medically supervised”

by our medical team of oncologists and nurses 24/7.

KAMP SITE

Kamp will be located in Clayton, Delaware at St. Joseph‘s Center for Community Service.  The camp site is a sprawling 255-acre property consisting of a 20-acre campus area, agricultural fields, open meadows, wetlands, forest, a pond and creek.  Meals are served in a spacious dining hall and all campers will be

assigned to age and gender matched cabins.

Our Kampers

Children ages 6 through 16 who have been diagnosed with

cancer with the approval of their physicians.

At the Light the Night walk

October 4, 2008

Held On the Grounds of A.I. Dupont Hospital

This Light the Night walk will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and give everyone there an opportunity to ask

“So, what‘s Kay‘s Kamp all about?”

We are praying for 50 teammates to come out and share a

great night of fun.  This is a great family event that helps to raise

money and awareness for the LLS and also awareness for Kay‘s Kamp.

If you have never participated before, it‘s absolutely amazing

when you light your balloon and you see a sea of red.  If you are

interested in joining our team, visit: “Team Kays Kamp”

Make sure to register everyone in your family

so each one will receive a lighted balloon.

We are hoping to have team T-shirts available to

purchase by each “Team Kay‘s Kamp” member!

So please sign up today and light up the night in memory of Kaylyn and in honor of those battling Leukemia and Lymphoma!
