In June of 2007 The Kaylyn Elaine Warren Foundation was established to fulfill the dream and last wish of Kaylyn E. Warren who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 15, 2005 at the age of 17. Kay’s Dream was to help other kids suffering from all types of childhood cancers through awareness and by opening Kay’s Kamp - the First Oncology Camp in Delaware. At Kamp, kids battling cancer can experience some “normal” in their now not-so-normal lives.
Short Term Goalof the KEWFis to establish Kay’s House, a year round facility to host sibling and/or family camp weekends, holiday gatherings and family outreach events. Kay’s House would also serve as the headquarters and offices of the KEWF.Long Term Goalof the KEWF is to acquire property in Delaware to build a special needs camp facility to host Kay’s Kamp and other medical needs camps.
